ICM for Students
Am I Eligible to Study with ICM?
To enroll in an ICM course, you need to be working within the industry to facilitate ‘on the job’ workplace training. You need to be working a minimum of 16 hours each week and you will need a supervisor to sign off on your work.
What Can I Study?
ICM is an ever-expanding organisation. We offer a range of qualifications in the Health, Community Service’s and Business sectors. To see our full list of qualifications and information on each course, click >>here<<
If I’m already employed in the industry, why should I enroll into the qualification?
ICM is a recognised training organisation. This means that our qualifications are nationally recognised and meet elite criteria and standards. Enrolling in a course with ICM gives you the same qualification that you would receive at TAFE.
Completing a qualification means that you are building on your current workplace skills and knowledge and is a great way of formally recognising your experience.
What kind of work would I be doing?
ICM assignments are designed to be as stress-free as possible. We use a mixture of short-answer, multiple choice questions and case studies to asses our students. We don’t expect you to write long essays! Along with each assignment, your supervisor will sign off on workplace observations and/or checklists to assist you in achieving your competency for that unit.
Can I study online?
Yes! Most of our qualifications are now being offered through our E-Learning platform ‘Moodle’. Moodle is a great and easy way of completing your course online as it allows you access to your educator as well as to other students completing the same course as you. We like to think of it as an ‘online learning community’ – designed at giving you all the skills and knowledge you require. Even if your course isn’t offered through ‘Moodle’ yet, don’t worry. Our experienced educators can still offer you email support and you can email in your assessments!
Can I study through distance education?
Yes! ICM offers all of our courses through distance education. When you enroll with us, we send you a customised Student Manual with information about ICM and your qualification. We can post (or e-mail) you out all of your assignments and learning resources (or textbooks). Additionally, you will have access to an experienced, friendly educator who can assist you with any questions or concerns. All you need to do is phone our free call number – 1800 702 232. (NSW only).
Are there any government-funded traineeships?
Yes, ICM offers a range of Government Traineeships (in NSW only). For more information on Government-funded traineeships, visit our Traineeships Qualifications page.
