Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (CHC40608)

Overview

This qualification addresses work in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres and work under professional supervision within defined organisation guidelines or as sole practitioners. These workers Assist with design, implementation and evaluation of health and leisure activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas and may be responsible for other workers.

Electives

Electives are created in accordance with the national packaging rules to best reflect the current needs of industry.  Your ICM qualification coordinator can discuss the suitability of each elective to your students.

  • Working in Aged Care
  • Working within the Community
  • Working with People with a Disability

Duration of Study

Students are required to be employed in their chosen field of study to enhance their ‘on-the-job’ learning.  They need to be supervised by a qualified staff member and working a minimum of 16 hours per week.  It is anticipated students will take 12 month to complete this qualification.

Cost

The full cost of this course is $2965.  This certificate is eligible for funding as a traineeship in NSW.  The government may pay up to $4000 for each New Entrant or Existing Worker Trainee.  Your ICM consultant will be able to give you more details on the traineeship program.
